Job Purpose:

OxEon Energy is hiring a Design Engineer to work with the Systems Engineering Team to lead the design of systems for advanced fuel processing for both space and terrestrial applications. This position requires a detail-oriented individual, capable of leading rigid compliance standards to evaluate and mitigate risks throughout the design process.

Roles and Responsibilities:

-   Design mechanical systems for high temperature electrolysis, synthetic fuel production, and high temperature fuel cells based on inputs from process engineers and functional requirements captured in P&IDs.

-   Develop creative concepts and arrangements of synthetic fuel and electrolysis systems to optimize user experience, cost effectiveness, manufacturability, and serviceability.

-   Design of piping systems and pressure vessels over a broad range of pressure and temperature conditions.

-   Collaborate with the procurement department and supply chain to provide parts and subassemblies for the fabrication of prototype systems and production units.

-   Oversee the development of engineering documentation (e.g. drawings, review presentations, solid models, reports, and fabrication documents) associated with new designs.

-   Manage multiple project design and fabrication efforts simultaneously.

-   Work closely with the fabrication team in prototype construction and assembly.

-   Oversee the development of control systems working with panel builders and PLC programmers.

 

Working Conditions: 

Work in office, R&D laborartories, and manufacturing environments

 

Minimum Experience Requirements: 

-  5-8 Years of engineering and design experience.

-  Exceptional writing, technical and problem-solving skills, and reasoning ability.

-  Ability to communicate effectively and cleaerly.

-  Must be a self-motivated and a great team worker.

 

Minimum Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

 

Preferred Skills:

-  Experience using Microsoft Office Software, Solidworks

 

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.  This position requires occasional climbing, balancing, stooping/crouching, and overhead reaching.  This position requires occasional pushing, pulling, kneeling, and crawling.  This position will be occasionally exposed to heat, cold, noise, and heights.
