Job Summary

OxEon Energy is hiring a Mechanical Engineer to work with the Systems Engineering Team to lead the design of systems for advanced fuel processing for both space and terrestrial applications.

This position requires a detail oriented individual, capable of leading rigid compliance standards to evaluate and mitigate risks throughout the design process.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Apply engineering fundamentals to identify or develop governing relations describing the system. 
  • Apply principles of mathematics, numerical methods, and programming to find solutions to developed relations. 
  • Use CAD/CAE tools such as SolidWorks Simulation, Finite Element Analysis & Computational Fluid Dynamics 
  • Write analysis reports, project update briefings, project milestone, monthly, quarterly, and final reports 
  • Prepare manuscripts and presentations for presentation at industry and professional society conferences 
  • Work with PIs to implement project science goals within the constraints of the contractual statement of work. 
  • Provide independent technical assessment to challenge approach of team members including the PIs. 
  • Specify components, identify suppliers, prepare purchase orders, monitor custom work of external fab shops. 
  • Assemble, commission and test systems alongside technicians working under the engineer’s direction. 
  • Analyze and report results of device and system testing, compare results to the analysis basis of the design 
  • Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications. 
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with suppliers and customers. 
  • Manage teams to specific tasks drawn from a program statement of work to (SOW) schedule and budget. 
    • Leader of Review Processes
      • Design Review
      • Change Control for drawings and models
      • ERP implementation from a part perspective
    • Facilitate the enforcement of revision and change control standards for drawings and models
    • GD&T Knowledge (Stack up analysis)
    • Participation in program stage gate reviews

 

Qualifications

  • 8+ Years of engineering analysis and design experience.
  • Demonstrated mastery of engineering principle and practice
  • Exceptional writing, technical and problem-solving skills, and reasoning ability.
  • Ability to manage project task teams to schedule and budget
  • Experience using SolidWorks
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
  • Must be a self-motivated and a great team worker.

Preferred Experience Requirements

AS9100 experience, or experience in a highly regulated field 

Minimum Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering 

Preferred Education Requirements

Master's degree in Mechanical

 

Physical Requirements

Must be able to frequently be lifting to 25 lbs.  Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. daily.  Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. with help, although not on a daily basis. 

This position requires frequent climbing, balancing, stooping/crouching, and overhead reaching. 

This position requires occasional pushing, pulling, kneeling, and crawling.  This position will be frequently exposed to heat, cold, noise, and heights.
