Sr. Manufacturing Process Control Engineer

OxEon Energy, LLC is a cleantech company located in North Salt Lake. The company works in commercial and government programs growing its core technologies of high temperature electrolysis, hydrocarbon reforming, synthetic fuel production, and power generation by high temperature fuel cells. The position will lead the effort to scale up production and implement manufacturing process control systems for our electrolyte and cell manufacturing processes, as well as influence process control in other areas of the business.

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Drive the scale up of manufacturing processes from pilot to full scale
  • Performing quality assurance on existing manufacturing processes.
  • Identifying areas that need process control optimization.
  • Evaluating and quantifying the efficiency of manufacturing technologies, instruments, equipment, and tools.
  • Leading projects for yield and throughput improvements
  • Driving process control innovation in collaboration with senior managers.
  • Recommending suitable software and process automation solutions.
  • Recruiting process specialists and training teams on the implementation of new processes.
  • Keeping process control operations within budget without compromising quality and efficiency.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Documenting processes and preparing progress reports.
  • Change control assessment for all process changes
  • Keeping abreast of developments and innovation in process control engineering.
  • Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements: 

  • Minimum five years' experience in process control engineering in a related industry.
  • Proficiency in project management and Statistical Process Control (SPC) software.
  • Extensive industry-specific process control knowledge.
  • Experience bridging the gap from R&D to production
  • Excellent leadership, collaboration, and communication skills with all positions in the company.
  • Superb analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Great organizational, time management, and recordkeeping skills.
  • Familiarity with Design of Experiments and other statistical tools for process optimization projects
  • Ability to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations.
  • Examples of process control projects including SPC directly managed and successfully implemented by candidate
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or in an industry-related field of specialization. Preference given to those with a Master's degree or greater

Preferred Experience:

  • Specialization in process control systems preferred.
  • Experience in ceramic manufacturing with emphasis on tape casting and lamination
  • Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt preferred
  • Familiarity with AS9100D or ISO requirements
